Birmingham, AL

As I write about my current experiences I want to start adding some of the great memories I have from early this year.

I was in Birmingham, AL in mid-June and had the absolute pleasure of eating at a fine dining restaurant called, "Hot and Hot Fish Club".  Everything we tasted was prepared perfectly and the fusion of flavors made for a memorable experience.  This is a farm to table experience that is a must visit if you are ever in the area.

No matter what you order, please try the Hot and Hot Tomato Salad paired with a bottle of Bastianich Friulano "Adriatico" 2011, Colli Orientali del Friuli.   This pairing of food and wine will stay in your memory for years to come!

Continuing the Journey!

It has been over 5 years since I posted anything on my Blog and it is time to start the Journey again! In the past four years I have experienced a lot of life changes. Some were good and others not but all of them have helped me learn about who I am and what I really want out of this life. I will share some of these experiences with the hope that you can learn from me. My goal in continuing this Blog is to help people pursue their goals and dreams in life and let nothing stand in their way of achieving them. We only get one chance to enjoy each day which is why I always say: "Tomorrow may never come so make today a day like it may be your last!"

Now, for a little background into the last 5 years:

During my sabbatical in 2008 and 2009, I participated in VinItaly and the Alba Wine events in 2008 and 2009. I also visited several wineries and established relationships with winery owners in all regions of mainland Italy, southern France, northern Spain and Greece.

After returning to America I completed both E&J Gallo Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and Master Sommelier-Introductory Sommelier Courses. After returning from my sabbatical I stopped blogging but while traveling across America I visited wineries in each State I passed through on my travels.

Currently I am living in Ann Arbor, Michigan and working in Healthcare for J.D. Power. I have to travel extensively for work and this gives me the opportunity to visit the locally owned establishments in the states I am visiting. As I stated above, I am continuing my Blog writing about the places I visit with an emphasis on my passions: the restaurants, foods, wines, and wineries I experience.
