The other restaurant is your true, classic, high end American
Steakhouse. Back in February I finally
made it to “Bern’s Steakhouse” in Tampa, FL.
As expected A La Carte style dining
with incredible cuts of meat to choose from.
What really makes this place special is the wine list and wine
cellar. I believe it is the largest wine
cellar in the world. We did the tour of
the onsite wine cellar where they had verticals going back form 30-40 years of
some of the finest France, California and Italy wines ever made.
We started our evening with a glass of “Domaine Baumard, Savennieres, Bottle 72.95 Glass 15.20 “Clos du
Papillon,” Loire”. This is from the
Loire Valley in France and it is made from the Chenin Blanc grape. It is dry with white wine with great
acidity. It is a perfect wine to be
paired with food and it also one of my personal favorite white wines made
anywhere in the world!
We paired our perfectly prepared fillet with a bottle of
French Medoc Bordeaux. The hardest
choice of the evening was which red wine to select. The list of reds by the glass is larger than
most places entire wine menu.
Here is a link to the website. Make sure you visit this place if you are ever
in Tampa, FL. Plan to visit the wine cellar either before or after dinner. Cheers!
