Iguazu Falls

We visited the cities of Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro but seeing the Iguazu Falls was different than anywhere I had been.  It was a place you must see and experience in person to understand.  While I am posting a few pictures, please put this place on your top 100 list of places to see.  You will be forever changed!

Brazil!!!

After returning from London in September was the start of one of my favorite seasons in Michigan.  Changing leaves, the wine harvest, and football.  It is a beautiful time on year, even if the Michigan football team had major challenges!  I also had one more trip planned before year’s end.  It was time to visit Brazil!

I want to thank Catarina Peres so much for hosting Brain Dufek and myself.  Without her support the experience would have been so different.  Meeting her family and friends was the best part of the time we spent in Brazil!

Finally back to my Blog once more!

It has been several months since I have posted anything new to my Blog site so I have a little catching up to do.  Moving forward I will continue to post about traveling and places I visit but I will also be adding new wines I discover.  I will try to focus on indigenous, unique grape varietals that many people do not know about or have never tasted.  This will be a fun way for people to learn more about the never ending world of wine!  As always, thanks for following me on my journey.  Andiamo!

People of London

The best part of coming to London was reconnecting with old friends, strengthening those friendships, and making new ones.  Every day we met with friends I made through my travels.  I am so appreciative for the time each of you made to be with us. Thank you for being part of my life!

Hampstead neighborhood

I want to send out a very big thank you to Carole Burton-Fairbrother for taking us to a wonderful restaurant in Hampstead called “Wells Tavern” and for giving a tour of the area.  She also took us to Primrose Hill in London, which has great views of the city center below.  It is a small part of Regent’s Park and I was told it is a great place to watch the sunset.  Thanks again Carole!

London, England

This was my first time in London and it will not be my last.  We really enjoyed our time here especially because of the people we visited and new friends we made.  A very big thank you goes out to Gregory Battle for his generous hospitality.  I also want to thank Jovi Berton for making the trip form Italy to visit me while I was here.

And then there is the famous sites to see too!!!

Paris, France

The city of Lights…Paris, France needs no introduction.  It was so good to be back again in a city I love.  The food, wines, history, culture, atmosphere, and most important to me, the family history.  It was very special to be back at Saint-Eustache church where our family history comes from.

Versailles, France

Everyone comes to see the Palace of Versailles, which is the grandest of all ever built.  My first visit was with my Mom and friend Gretchen Leffler about 8 years ago so it was nice to be back and share the experience with uncle Mark Drallette.  We arrived the night before and had the pleasure of getting a tour of the city from Alexandra De Carvalho.  Thanks so much to her for a wonderful evening!
